Naomi Osaka, world’s No. 1 beats Serena Williams

Naomi Osaka, a professional tennis player, representing Japan was born on October 16, 1997.
She has a very high career ranking no. 4 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), which she achieved October 2018.

She is also the 2018 US Open and 2019 Australian Open Champion in women’s singles.

She was born to a Japanese mother and a Haitian father in Japan. From her third year, she has resided in the United States, and at the age of sixteen, she defeated Samantha Stosur, the former US Open Champion in her WTA Tour debut at the 2014 Stanford Classic.

After about two years, she reached her first WTA final at the 2016 Pan Pacific Open in Japan to enter the top 50 rankings.

Osaka made a breakthrough into the upper election of women’s tennis in 2018, when she won her first WTA title at the Indian Wells Open.

In September, Osaka won the US Open and defeated Serena Williams, a 23-time major champion in the final, therefore becoming the first Japanese to win a Grand Slam singles tournament.

Osaka could hit 100 miles per hour, which is 160km/h forehands at age sixteen.

Today, she is one of the fastest servers on record in WTA history, because her serve is about 125 miles per hour, 200km/h.

She said ” I think my biggest improvement is mental. My game is more consistent, there are not so many unforced errors. I’m not sure how many I hit today, but sometimes, last year, I was hitting a lot”
She said this, crediting improving her mental approach and cutting down on unforced errors for her breakthrough season in 2018.
